Portraiture / Fashion

My journey into portraiture was gradual. I was fortunate that my early sessions were meaningful, shaped by a genuine connection between myself and the person in front of the lens. I remember photographing an older gentleman named Chris who became emotional when he saw his portrait. He told me he had never truly seen himself before that moment. We both felt the weight of it.
One of my absolute favorite things to do is look at photos with the models I photograph, choosing and selecting and sometimes gasping with mutual awe at a specific image we’ve just created together. Photographing people is how I connect best, whether it’s my more abstract fine art series, or a more standard portrait. My camera acts as a liaison, and often creates a bonding experience between myself and the person I am photographing. It is an honor to share such an experience with another being.
