Marine Drive-By

Marine Drive-by is a study of transience, captured from the window of a moving taxi along Marine Drive in Bombay. Using slow shutter speeds, the images blur pedestrians mid-stride, rendering them as streaks of motion—half-formed, already vanishing. The dual movement of photographer and subject turns each frame into a collaboration between motion, chance, and time.
The series is not about individual subjects, but about a kind of collective pedestrian—an attempt to capture the essence of a stroll, an amble, a thoughtful pause. Marine Drive-by is uninterested in the notion of freezing time; instead, it seeks to reinterpret it. There are no fixed moments here, only fleeting impressions of a particular place and a specific moment in time.
